Vaughn’s Vista was one of three purchases by one of our investors, all of which were new builds. As part of the deal, we were able to get the builder to include a furniture package of $55,000 as well as including the pool before closing. So, our client was able to get this super property running quickly without coming out of pocket for additional set-up expenses or time lost building the pool. After just over a year, the investor decided to sell to use his proceeds for a different investment (non-STR). Hospitality came first for us — real estate came later.
Neil spent 15 years in the country club world, and at the same time we were hands-on owners of our own short-term rentals. That experience shaped how we think about guest experience and what actually performs.
As our portfolio grew in the Blue Ridge market, we realized we loved finding high-performing short-term rentals as much as owning them. Becoming Realtors together was a natural next step.
